Στην Ετήσια Συνάντηση των Σκανδιναβικών Προξενικών Αρχών, η οποία πραγματοποιήθηκε χθες, Πέμπτη 7 Μαΐου, στη Σκανδιναβική Εκκλησία της Αγία Νάπα, παρέστη και απηύθυνε χαιρετισμό ο Δήμαρχος Αγίας Νάπας κ. Χρίστος Ζαννέττου. Στη συνάντηση παρέστη επίσης ο Αντιδήμαρχος του Δημοτικού Διαμερίσματος Αυγόρου κ. Παναγής Μιχαηλάς.
Η συνάντηση διοργανώθηκε από την Πρεσβεία της Σουηδίας, με τη συμμετοχή της Πρεσβείας της Φινλανδίας, του Βασιλικού Γενικού Προξενείου της Δανίας / της Πρεσβείας της Δανίας στην Αθήνα, του Βασιλικού Γενικού Προξενείου της Νορβηγίας, καθώς και εκπροσώπων ταξιδιωτικών οργανισμών που δραστηριοποιούνται στην εξυπηρέτηση Σκανδιναβών επισκεπτών στην Κύπρο. Στόχος της συνάντησης ήταν η ανταλλαγή πληροφοριών και η περαιτέρω ενίσχυση της συνεργασίας μεταξύ των εμπλεκόμενων φορέων.
Κατά την τοποθέτησή του, ο κ. Ζαννέττου αναφέρθηκε στον νέο Δήμο Αγίας Νάπας, παρουσιάζοντας το όραμα και τον στρατηγικό σχεδιασμό της Δημοτικής Αρχής για την ανάπτυξη και αναβάθμιση της περιοχής.
Παράλληλα, έκανε ιδιαίτερη αναφορά στις σημαντικές ετήσιες εκδηλώσεις και δράσεις που διοργανώνει ο Δήμος, καθώς και στις υποδομές, τα συγκριτικά πλεονεκτήματα της περιοχής και τις προοπτικές ανάπτυξης του νέου Δήμου, με στόχο την περαιτέρω ενδυνάμωση του τουριστικού προϊόντος και την ανάδειξη της Αγίας Νάπας ως σύγχρονου και ποιοτικού προορισμού.
Ανέφερε επίσης ότι η παρουσία του Δήμου Αγίας Νάπας στη συνάντηση επιβεβαιώνει τη σημασία που αποδίδει η Δημοτική Αρχή στην ενίσχυση των σχέσεων συνεργασίας με τις σκανδιναβικές χώρες και τους τουριστικούς φορείς, συμβάλλοντας ουσιαστικά στην προβολή και ενδυνάμωση της Αγίας Νάπας στη διεθνή τουριστική αγορά.
Της παρέμβασης του Δημάρχου προηγήθηκε παρουσίαση της Αγίας Νάπας από τον Δημοτικό Γραμματέα του Δήμου κ. Φώτο Κίκιλλο, ο οποίος ανέδειξε τα αξιοθέατα και τις φυσικές ομορφιές της περιοχής.
Τέλος, ο Δήμαρχος απένειμε αναμνηστικά δώρα στους εκπροσώπους των Σκανδιναβικών Προξενικών Αρχών.

Mayor of Agia Napa Mr Christos Zannettou addresses the Annual Nordic Consular Meeting – Agia Napa Strengthens Cooperation Ties with the Nordic Countries.
The Mayor of Agia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannettou, attended and delivered a greeting at the Annual Nordic Consular Meeting, which took place today, Thursday 7 May, at the Scandinavian Church in Agia Napa. Also present at the meeting was the Vice Mayor of Avgorou Municipal Quarter, Mr. Panagis Michaelas.
The meeting was organized by the Embassy of Sweden, with the participation of the Embassy of Finland, the Royal Danish Consulate General / Embassy of Denmark in Athens, the Royal Norwegian Consulate General, as well as representatives of tour operators involved in assisting Scandinavian visitors to Cyprus. The purpose of the meeting was the exchange of information and the further strengthening of cooperation among the participating parties.
During his address, Mr. Zannettou referred to the newly established Municipality of Agia Napa, presenting the vision and strategic planning of the Municipal Authority for the development and upgrading of the area. He also made special reference to the major annual events and activities organized by the Municipality, as well as to the infrastructure, comparative advantages, and development prospects of the new Municipality, with the aim of further strengthening the tourism product and promoting Agia Napa as a modern and high-quality destination.
He further noted that the participation of the Municipality of Agia Napa in the meeting confirms the importance the Municipal Authority places on strengthening cooperation ties with the Nordic countries and tourism stakeholders, substantially contributing to the promotion and enhancement of Agia Napa within the international tourism market.
Prior to the Mayor’s address, a presentation on Agia Napa was delivered by the Municipal Secretary, Mr. Fotos Kikillos, who highlighted the area’s attractions and natural beauty.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Mayor presented commemorative gifts to the representatives of the Nordic Consular Authorities.
