Έμπρακτη επιβεβαίωση της διαχρονικής δημοτικότητας της Αγίας Νάπας ως τουριστικού προορισμού αποτελεί η περίπτωση των Richard Mark και Gillian Dixon από το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, οι οποίοι έχουν επισκεφθεί την περιοχή συνολικά 48 και 54 φορές, αντίστοιχα, για σκοπούς διακοπών.
Ο Δήμος Αγίας Νάπας, αναγνωρίζοντας την πολυετή και έμπρακτη αγάπη τους προς την πόλη, τους τίμησε με την ανώτατη διάκριση του Δήμου, σε τελετή που πραγματοποιήθηκε σήμερα, Τετάρτη, 7 Οκτωβρίου 2026, στον χώρο υποδοχής του Δημοτικού Μεγάρου Αγίας Νάπας.
Την απονομή της αναμνηστικής πλακέτας και του εμβλήματος του «Πρέσβη Τουρισμού» έκανε, εκ μέρους του Δημάρχου κ. Χρίστου Ζαννέττου, ο Αντιδήμαρχος του Δημοτικού Διαμερίσματος Αγίας Νάπας, κ. Αντώνης Χρίστου.
Ο κ. Χρίστου ευχαρίστησε θερμά το ζευγάρι για τις πολυάριθμες επισκέψεις και τη διαχρονική αγάπη του προς την Αγία Νάπα, σημειώνοντας πως ο Δήμος δεν τους θεωρεί πλέον επισκέπτες, αλλά μέλη της τοπικής κοινωνίας.

54 and 48 visits to Agia Napa – British Couple were being proclaimed as «Tourism Ambassadors by the Αgia Napa Municipality.
The case of Richard Mark and Gillian Dixon from the United Kingdom is a tangible testament to the enduring popularity of Agia Napa as a tourist destination. The couple has visited the area a total of 48 and 54 times, respectively, for holiday purposes.
Recognizing their long-standing and genuine affection for the town, the Municipality of Agia Napa honoured them with the Municipality’s highest distinction, during a ceremony held today, Wednesday, 7 October 2026, at the reception area of the Agia Napa Municipal Hall.
The commemorative plaque and the «Tourism Ambassador» emblem were presented, on behalf of the Mayor, Mr Christos Zannettou, by the Vice Mayor of the Agia Napa Municipal Quarter, Mr Antonis Christou.
Mr Christou warmly thanked the couple for their numerous visits and their enduring affection for Ayia Napa, noting that the Municipality no longer considers them visitors, but rather members of the local community.
